The Sounds of Softness is a (fictional) documentary by Mary Ocher and Julien Binet. It Features the late Dieter Moebius, Bettina Koster, Jochen Arbeit and others, either as themselves or as characters that are part of the Sounds of Softness universe/mythology. The actors were given bare instructions regarding the structure of the tale and its participants, they have filled the gaps themselves. The process took 5 years in the making. The film was screened on several occasions in Berlin, Hamburg and Rotterdam, including the big auto.diktat art collective video exhibition, of which Mary is a member.
tagline: The Sounds of Softness was an all-embracing sound/theory movement that had existed briefly between 1978 and 1979. ((How far can you re-write history?))
